PagePlus X6: How do I make a pop-up window in a pdf doc?

Is there any way to create a pop-up or pop-over "window" or note area in my pdf, so that when the reader clicks on a button or a link he will then see a window or a color-shaded area with descriptive text?

I am not referring to the "note" function in Acrobat or Foxit reader -- that's for adding notes as you read. Instead, I want to have the text descriptions of my pictures only visible if the reader chooses to see them.

Of course, there would need to be a "close" button or link
in the text window as well.

If this is not an available function, does anyone know if there are scripts you can invoke to create this behavior?

PagePlus X3: PPX3 Booklet Printing Upside Down on Reverse

Hi,
this may be a simple problem but I'm stumped.
I have been using Page Plus for years to produce a fairly basic 8xA4 sheet, folded, double sided to form a 32 page A5 booklet, stapled in the centre.(Programme for a sports event, weekly)
I have Page Plus 1 to X5.
Due to previous printing problems I've gone back to and stuck with X3 for years.
Printing under Windows XP or Vista, auto duplex no problem on either printer.
I use an HP Laserjet 1200 - manual duplex - print one side odds, turn over then evens reverse order no problem.
I also use HP Laserjet 1320 (to do print run of 100 or so copies). Auto duplex no problem.

Change to Windows 7 or 8.

On HP 1320 auto duplex - prints perfectly but all reverse pages are upside down, otherwise fine.

I can find no way to get reverse sides printed correct way up.
As I said at the start - probably the easiest thing to sort, but can anyone help please?

PagePlus X6: How do you view the size/position of the selected object?

Just started using PP, I've used MS Publisher for 10 or 15 years. This is sooo much better.

In Publisher (and similar programs I've used), when you select an object (textbox, etc.) in the document, it shows you the current position and size of that object.
I know you can see the cursor position, but I want to see the object position..

I don't see that anywhere. Am I missing that?
How do you see that?

Similarly, I'd like to be able to set the position (x, y) and size (where applicable) of an object. I see no way to do that (at least for a text box or Quick Shape.

PagePlus X5: Submitting PDFs

I have recently been on a one day self publishing course and am beginning to compile my material. They advised buying PPx5 and to submit material as PDFs, print ready copy.
I can do the individual pages with my novice experience of the Serif software. But, how do I prepare the complete publication in page number sequence.
My other books were produced by publishers without my being involved in the mechanical print run process.

PagePlus X5: Bottom of pages not printing at all

I just upgraded from an old version to x5. In my old version I never had a problem like this. When I go to print preview the bottom two inches or so of my document is missing and it's not bleeding to any of the edges. The margins are all set to 0. I've attached a screenshot of my print preview page. Any help would be appreciated

PagePlus X5: Help Troubleshooting Converting PPX5 document into PDF

Hello.
I have created numerous PDFs without any problems up until now. When I create the PDF, I have some text that does not show up on the output.

Any suggestions as to how I can correct this??

Here are the settings I have tried:
Embed Fonts (checked)
Convert text to outlines (checked)
Retain Spot colors (checked)


Help please. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated!!

PagePlus X6: Crop marks

I have a problem of difficult solution for me.

I am creating a book A5 size (148 x 210 mm) and need to print on paper format 240 x 330 mm (a common format here in Brazil), facing pages, with crop marks. I have no idea how to do this.

I'm used to print on A4 paper without any problem, but no crop marks.

Can someone help? Please ask them to write in terms easy to understand, because I'm not fluent in English (this text made ​​with help of Google Translator). :(

PagePlus X5: Tri-folder keep page format in PDF

I have completed a side tri-fold brochure for our non-profit group. Everything is fine as long as I keep and print from within PagePlus X5.

However I want to send it electronically to other members of the group for them to review and suggest changes. When I save it as a PDF file, it saves a 6 separate pages and not as 2 page document which is what it is. How can I save it so they can view it as it will eventually be printed?

PagePlus X6: saving photo across two pages

Hello

I am publishing a magazine and am using a large photo as the background across two pages. while I'm designing the magazine I view the document with "facing pages" but when I publish of course the image only is on one of the pages. my way around it has been to copy and place the image on the other page as well. but i thought there must be an easier way! to anchor the image to both pages so when i separate them they split across.

can anyone help?

PagePlus X5: The write reader

I am still at the tinkering stage with my new prized possession Page Plus x5, a case of exploration into the unknown. I looked at the video tutorials but one of the penalties of the descent into the realms of geriatric decline is short term memory loss, the blank page syndrome. And so, I bought a copy of the User Guide because I need to have the hard copy instructions alongside the computer as I follow the procedure. But, although it is excellent, being completely in black print it does not excite the ‘wow’ factor.
And then, I discovered the Adobe PDF version, like a moment of religious conversion.
Amazing, absolute clarity, full colour illustrations and the ability to smoothly move from page to page. However, the old problem of needing the hard copy re-emerged. To print out the PDF would demand a huge and costly bite out of my pension.
Then I tripped over the cat and a few brain cogs dropped back into place. I thought that a PDF, like the user guide, would be the ideal method for many amateur writers to place their work on line. There are many thousands of them around the globe who are not seeking vast wealth from publishing their latest novel but just need someone, anyone, to read it.
What I really need is a user guide on how to transform my Word novel, as yet unwritten, into a PDF.

PagePlus X6: Errors: Multiple opf file, Epub unpacking problem

I'm a new user of Page Plus X6. I've read the User Guide and Help Forums, but cannot solve this problem.

1. I created an e-book with a jpg cover image, text (imported via Notepad), and five jpg photos. Document is saved in both .epub and .ppp formats.

2. Images are placed in a text boxes, reduced to 96 dpi, and anchored as inline. The book contains no hyperlinks.

3. Preflight tab indicates no problems. Text manager indicates no overflows.

4. While attempting to upload the .epub version into Kindle Previewer I consistently get the following error messages:

Kindle Previewer has failed to compile the book

Error(prcgen):E21027:
Epub file has more than one opf file

Error(prcgen):E21017:
Problem while unpacking EPUB file

I find no discussion of these problems in either the Serif or Kindle forums and am at a loss for a cure.

Any suggestions?

PagePlus X6: How many pages of pdf file before freezing?

I have been trying to open a pdf file of 60 pages. The progress bar stopped moving at about the very end. 2 hours on, still on the same spot. Once I pressed any key, message 'not responding' comes up. Bottom line, how many pages of pdf file can Page Plus x6 handle without problem? I have repeated it countless times? Needs fixing. I have the very latest update 16.0.2.27. Thanks

PagePlus X6: How do I create a *vertical* Fill gradient

All the Fill gradient examples I see are horizontal (gradient change from left to right) or have 3 colors.

I'm trying to create a 2 color vertical changing gradient.

Color1
Color 1/2
Color 2

Now, I realize I can rotate the rectangle I applied the gradient to, but this is a bit of a hack and then it gets confusing if I'm working with that shape later b/c "left/top" gets reversed (b/c it's at a 90degree angle).

BTW, I'm LOVING the program. It's soooo much better than MS Publisher.

PagePlus X6: Is there a way to select an object in the background?

If I've got, for example, a background box with shading and a foreground object the same size with text, and I want to select the background, any way to sort of "drill down" and select it?


What I've tried:
I know that I can draw a selection rectangle and if it only has the object in the background, I can select it that way, but the fore/back ground objects are the same size and the foreground object isn't transparent.

SM:HELPHi there: Attempting to open pages from a publication I made from last year with PagePlus X5. Pages with only text on opening ok, but those with downloaded text/pictures, I get the message 'programme has stopped working' - any thoughts or suggestions please?
