E-book Covers and uploadng to Kindle.

Hi - I'm new to this forum and have not yet purchased Page Plus X6. I need to know that it will do what I need it to.

Could someone please tell me whether I can use PPX6 to create an ebook cover for my ebook? There's no template available for covers on X6 and the user guide I found online says that covers need to be created using a "picture." I would need to create my cover in PPX6 rather than creating it elsewhere and importing it in - is this possible and how do I do it?

Also, I saw a demo video which made it look really easy to import ebooks from MS WORD and then format and upload to the Kindle: and I was wondering whehter it really is that easy?

Would really appreciate some help on the above.

PagePlus X6: I want to scale a picture frame but leave the picture unscaled

I want to adjust the size of a picture frame but leave
the picture that's already in the frame unchanged.

PagePlus X6: Crash on startup - and i got deadline!

Hello

Either i start PagePlus via a document (a publication) or via pageplus.exe it crashes about 5-6 secounds after i tried to start it. Same for X5.

I tried to repair via DVD, but it never completes.

I have not changed any hardware or software while this happend.

I have tried different user accounts etc. I have tried to clear Windows Cache with **** Cleaner.


Im using a Windows Vista x64 bit machine. It has AMD FX 8150 eight core, 3,61 GHz processor, 16 GB RAM and a videocard AMD Readeon HD 7700. So it shuld not be to weak hardware.

Any idea or possible solution of this problem?

Good afternoon all
I received an double sided A3 PDF file on setting up an aquarium from Poland which was very comprehensive with pictures and small font size in several languages.
I could not think of a way to amend and print this document on A4 without the text being to small to read. SM:THUMBDOWN

I bought the PDF file into PagePlus changed the page size to A4, edited out all the foreign languages adjusted the font size and have ended up with two A4 pages that print as I would want.
Great program for tasks such as these.SM:FONZ

PagePlus X3: Importing PDF - Adobe Acrobat X

Hello,

For PagePlus X3, I have had no troubles importing .pdf documents in the past. Since my company has upgraded to Acrobat X, I can no longer import them and I get the following error. "Unable to import PDF document:"

PagePlus X3 is currently up to date according to the program when I check for upgrades. The pdf was not even created using Acrobat X, it was created using our previous version of Acrobat 5.0. The specific PDF document I am trying to open has successfully imported before the Acrobat X installation.

Is this a known issue? Is there a fix for this?

PagePlus X6: Image size/format for Kindle ebook output

I've been having a frustrating time trying to export a kindle book with a cover. Text output works ok in epub and mobi and epub files export with no problems with cover image. The failed to convert message keeps appearing when I try to output in mobi with a cover. Is there a specific size/format that the image must be?
This is driving me nuts!!!

PagePlus X6: import pdf as an image....

Similar to PDFpen for mac, I want to be able to edit pdfs but not all the objects of the pdf. I can basically type or draw what I want on the pdf as if it were an image, then export or save the pdf when I am finished.

Either pageplus x6 or photoplus x6. Pageplus seems to import the pdf and separates all identified objects. i wanted a way to just edit on top of the existing pdf files, having the pdf as a background layer so to speak.

Is this possible?

PagePlus X5: Crop to Shape - shows shape diagonals on top of picture

I am trying to crop photos to an 'egg' shape. I've used an elliptical Quick Shape and then the warp tool to create the egg. After I've Cropped to Shape, the diagnonals from the shape appear on top of the picture and I can't find a way to remove them. Please can you help?

PagePlus X6: Tab Order greyed out

Have re-ordered the form fields using Tab Order with no problems. On going back to do another tab order the Tab Order is greyed out.
Must be something simple! Thanks for any help.

Hi, I am looking for a way to password protect my pageplus X4 files so no one can edit them as they are extremely important the the final version is not tampered with!
I understand a PDF version can be protected however this would not protect the original file from being edited.

PagePlus X6: Tables Cells and Styles

I am compiling a family history book. There are many tables in the book which I am using for placement of text etc.

I need to go thro' all the tables (500 or more) and set all the margins etc. one by one.


Is there any way to have styles for the cells? Or is there a way to automate the task?

I know I should have thought of this when I did the first table but I didn'thttp://forums.serif.com/images/smilies_v2/crying.gif

PagePlus X6: Browse in Asset Tab

Good Day;

I used PagePlus in the early 1990s but not since then. Recently I have purchased and installed PagePlus X6. So I am new. On the Asset Tab pick a category - say Page Content. At that point I get an offer to browse for objects. Once I select an object it appears in the Asset Tab. So far so good. Now I want to browse again in that category. This time I do not see an offer to browse. I am probably missing it. Can someone point me to the path to browse again in that category already used.

PagePlus X6: PagePlus hangs up when trying to open a PDF file

When I try to open a PDF file, either by importing or simply opening it, PagePlus hangs. I get a "Not responding" message at the top of the screen and in Windows Task Manager, CPU usage rises to 25% for PagePlus alone, and the file never opens. I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 with a quad-core CPU and 8 GB of RAM.

The file in question isn't large, only 560 kb. I've even tried adjusting the page layout to landscape with the proportionally proper dimensions (36" W X 24" H). No help.

PagePlus X5: Printing Business Cards

I am a retired guy who enjoys desk top publishing for fun....
My recent headache is that I want to make some business cards, 10 to a sheet (2columns 5 rows).
My design finished and go to print preview..
all fine.. click on print and I only get ONE card on the sheet....
Try as I may I cannot make it print the whole sheet....
PLEASE.. where am I going wrong and what settings do I have to choose. I am using Page plus x5.
All assistance will be gratefully received.

PagePlus Starter Edition: Book spine

How do I get the correct text for the spine of a book? I tried using a standard text frame and rotating it, but the text looks malformed. I can't find any way of formatting the text so I can write it 'sideways'.

I'm using the free edition, by the way.

PagePlus X6: Professional magazine printing

This is my 1st try so please be gentle,,,

I'm trying to build a magazine for pro printing.
I'm fine with all pages except the cover and I can't figure out how to print a sample on my personal printer of the cover (Print edge to edge, & top and bottom. I'm so confused! I can get it to print to trim lines but not on the bottom. At the bottom I consistantly get a 1/2 inch margin.
HELP... THANKS
